The DIY and construction market are awash with power tools of various types and of course financial values.
Over recent years DIY projects home build schemes have become very popular this has been caused partly by the popularity of various media spotlight TV shows which show such things as celebrities carrying out full property renovations in what seems to be record time.
With any project for good and acceptable finishes the correct tools must be utilised this is solely down to choices we make, you don't need the most expensive tools on the market only the correct ones for the job.
One of the more common choices with the enhancement of technology is whether to go with corded or cordless power tools?
Both have very distinct advantages and disadvantages.
Corded power tools tend to be lighter in weight and are more powerful than cordless option but you are restricted by power supplies and extension cables Etc.
For example if you are working in an area without power then obviously a temporary supply must be found which would likely be a generator.
Cordless power tools on the other hand are more versatile and very portable in essence they can go anywhere you can, they are slightly disadvantaged over the corded models in as much as they are obviously heavier having to incorporate a battery pack and as the battery diminishes in power so does the performance of the tool itself!
As with any battery operated product over time the life of the battery will diminish and you may look to have a spare, this is a good habit to get into as you could always have one charging whilst using the other.
A good tip should you favour the cordless option is as your tool kit expands and you buy additional products try to stay within the same brand as you should find the battery packs are 90% interchangeable thus as mentioned it provides the opportunity for one to charge whilst the other is being used.
As you can see both options are perfectly viable and it's very much a personal choice, dependent on the work environment and of course financial budget.
If your budget allows its better to spend a little more on quality products especially things like drill bits and screwdriver heads as inferior things like this tend to break very early into usage.
